Signs of Cold Stress in Urn plant
Symptoms
Urn plant thrives in warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 45℉, initial leaf symptoms are absent. However, within three to five days, leaves wilt and droop, potentially leading to the plant drying out completely.
Solutions
Prune affected areas. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm spot for cold protection. Position plants near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Avoid placing near heaters or AC vents to prevent air from becoming too dry.
Signs of Heat Stress in Urn plant
Symptoms
In summer, Urn plant should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 80℉, leaf tips may dry and shrivel, growth can halt, and root rot risk increases. Furthermore, too much sun exposure can cause scorching.
Solutions
Discard shriveled sections. Relocate the plant to a shaded area during midday and afternoon. Water in the morning and evening to maintain plant and environmental humidity.
