Indications of Cold Temperatures in Russian olive
Symptoms
Russian olive tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 59℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, even if no immediate changes are apparent in winter, branches might become brittle and dry in spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.

Symptoms
During summer, Russian olive should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures go above 86℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in hue, their tips could dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove the sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric to provide cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
