Signs of Cold Stress in French tamarisk
Symptoms
French tamarisk exhibits exceptional cold hardiness, but winter temperatures should ideally remain above 40℉. Should the temperature fall below this point, while no immediate effects might be apparent in winter, branches could become fragile and desiccated by spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
During spring, remove any lifeless branches that have not developed fresh foliage.
Signs of Heat Stress in French tamarisk
Symptoms
French tamarisk does not fare well in elevated temperatures. When the temperature surpasses 80℉, it can lead to considerable leaf shedding, and in extreme instances, the entire plant might wilt and perish.
Solutions
Cut off the sun-damaged and dehydrated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to ensure the soil remains damp.
