Signs of Cold Stress in False bird of paradise
Symptoms
False bird of paradise favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 59℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, foliage may lose its vibrant hue. Following frost damage, the leaves progressively turn brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping might appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection against cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light exposure. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or air conditioning vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in False bird of paradise
Symptoms
In summer, False bird of paradise should be kept below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the leaves' color fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area that offers protection from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
