Signs of Cold Temperatures in Deerberry
Symptoms
Deerberry tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while winter changes might not be obvious, branches can become brittle and dry by spring, preventing new growth.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new leaves.
Signs of High Temperatures in Deerberry
Symptoms
In summer, Deerberry should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures go above 80℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, tips could dry and wither, and it becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Cut off any sunburned and dried sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
