Signs of Cold Stress in Cabbage palm
Symptoms
Cabbage palm thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. It grows optimally above 70℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. Below 20℉, leaves may lose color. Post-frost, they progressively brown or blacken, showing wilting and drooping.
Solutions
Remove frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm area for protection. Position near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Avoid placing near heating or AC vents to prevent air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Cabbage palm
Symptoms
In summer, Cabbage palm should stay below 85℉. Above 95℉, leaves lighten and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off sun-scorched and desiccated areas. Move the plant to a spot offering shade from intense midday and afternoon sun. Water in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
