Signs of Cold Stress in Cowslip
Symptoms
Cowslip tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 59℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 41℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
Remove any unsprouted sections in spring.
Signs of Heat Stress in Cowslip
Symptoms
In summer, Cowslip should be maintained below 68℉. When temperatures surpass 77℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and dried portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
