Signs of Cold Stress in Water mint
Symptoms
Water mint tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while immediate winter changes might be absent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Water mint
Symptoms
In summer, Water mint should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, curl easily, become prone to sun damage, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sun-damaged and dried. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
