Signs of Cold Stress in Giant orchid
Symptoms
Giant orchid flourishes in warm conditions and cannot withstand low temperatures. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 75℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 68℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, leaves will show widespread water-soaked damage, wilting, and drooping.
Solutions
Remove any frost-damaged sections. Promptly move the plant indoors to a warm spot to shield it from the cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.

Symptoms
In summer, Giant orchid should be kept below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the plant stops growing, and its leaves progressively wilt. It becomes more prone to root rot and can easily get sunburned if exposed to direct sunlight.
Solutions
Cut off any sunburned and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area offering shade from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain moisture for both the plant and its surroundings.
