Signs of Cold Stress in Wild yam

Wild yam tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.

In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.

Symptoms
In summer, Wild yam should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 80℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the entire plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
