Signs of Cold Stress in Spanish cedar
Symptoms
Spanish cedar favors warm conditions and cannot withstand low temperatures. It flourishes best when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 59℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, its leaves might lose some color. Following frost damage, the foliage progressively turns brown or black, and issues like wilting and drooping may appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from the cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient sunlight. Furthermore, avoid placing it close to heating units or air conditioning vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Spanish cedar
Symptoms
In summer, Spanish cedar should be kept below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the leaves' color fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering shade from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
