Signs of Cold Stress in Flaming torch
Symptoms
Flaming torch thrives in warm conditions and cannot withstand low temperatures. It grows optimally when the temperature is above 65℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 55℉. When temperatures drop below 45℉, the leaves initially show no clear signs. However, after three to five days, they begin to wilt and sag, and in extreme cases, the whole plant can desiccate.
Solutions
Prune the cold-damaged sections. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm setting for cold protection. Select a location near a south-facing window for the plants, ensuring sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing plants near heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Flaming torch
Symptoms
In summer, Flaming torch should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures exceed 85℉, leaf tips may become dry and shriveled, growth might stop, and the plant could be susceptible to root rot. Moreover, too much sun exposure can lead to sunburn.
Solutions
Remove any dried-up portions. Move the plant to a spot that offers shade from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain moisture for both the plant and its surroundings.
