Signs of Cold Stress in Fragrant Sage
Symptoms
Fragrant Sage tolerates cool conditions moderately well, flourishing optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In colder months, maintain temperatures above 50℉. Should the temperature drop below 40℉, foliage may begin to sag. Minor cases can recover, but severe exposure leads to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before further cold exposure, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and build a windbreak to shield it from harsh winds.
Signs of Heat Stress in Fragrant Sage
Symptoms
In summer, Fragrant Sage needs to be kept below 75℉. When temperatures rise above 85℉, leaves may lighten in color, tips might dry and shrivel, foliage could curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Cut off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
