Signs of Cold Stress in Water avens
Symptoms
Water avens exhibits exceptional cold hardiness, but winter temperatures should remain above 32℉. Should the temperature fall below this point, while no immediate alterations might be apparent in winter, a reduction in spring germination or even a complete lack thereof could occur.

During spring, eliminate any sections that have not germinated.
Signs of Heat Stress in Water avens
Symptoms
Water avens does not tolerate elevated temperatures well. When the temperature surpasses 68℉, its development ceases, and its vulnerability to decay increases.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are scorched by the sun and dried out. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade fabric to provide cover. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
