Signs of Cold Stress in English sundew
Symptoms
English sundew tolerates cool temperatures moderately, flourishing optimally between 50℉ and 77℉. In colder months, maintain temperatures above 41℉. Below 32℉, foliage may darken. Severe cases can lead to water-soaked decay, wilting, drooping, and a gradual browning of leaves.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm spot or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When inside, position near a south-facing window for adequate light. If natural light is insufficient, provide artificial illumination.
Signs of Heat Stress in English sundew
Symptoms
In summer, English sundew needs temperatures below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, growth slows, leaf color fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any parts that are sunburned and desiccated. Relocate the plant to an area offering shade from the afternoon sun. Water the plant during morning and evening hours to maintain soil moisture.
