Signs of Cold Stress in Nepali hog-plum
Symptoms
Nepali hog-plum favors warm conditions and cannot withstand low temperatures. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 64℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, foliage may lose its vibrant color. Following frost damage, the leaves progressively turn brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping might appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts affected by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection against cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient sunlight. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or air conditioning vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Nepali hog-plum
Symptoms
In summer, Nepali hog-plum should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the leaves' color fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to an area that offers shade from the intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant during the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
