Signs of Cold Stress in Oval-leaf sedge
Symptoms
Oval-leaf sedge tolerates cold well and grows optimally above 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while winter changes might be unnoticeable, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in Oval-leaf sedge
Symptoms
In summer, Oval-leaf sedge needs temperatures below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaves may lighten, curl, and suffer sunburn; severe cases lead to wilting and desiccation of the whole plant.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and dried portions. Relocate the plant to a spot shaded from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
