Signs of Cold Stress in Pacific Reedgrass
Symptoms
Pacific Reedgrass tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 50℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 40℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while no immediate winter changes might be seen, spring may bring reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Pacific Reedgrass
Symptoms
During summer, Pacific Reedgrass should be maintained below 65℉. When temperatures surpass 75℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
