Signs of Cold Stress in Blue orchid
Symptoms
Blue orchid flourishes in warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, leaves will show widespread water-soaked damage, wilting, and drooping.
Solutions
Remove any frost-damaged sections. Promptly move the plant indoors to a warm spot to shield it from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Also, avoid placing it near heating or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Blue orchid
Symptoms
In summer, Blue orchid should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, plant growth stops, and leaves progressively wilt. It becomes more prone to root rot and can easily get sunburned in direct sun.
Solutions
Cut off any sunburned and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering shade from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain moisture for both the plant and its surroundings.
