Indications of Low Temperature in Spiked oatgrass
Symptoms
Spiked oatgrass exhibits high cold tolerance, yet winter temperatures should remain above 20℉. Should the temperature fall below this point, while no immediate changes might be apparent in winter, a reduction in sprouting or even a complete lack of sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
During spring, eliminate any sections that have not germinated.
Indications of High Temperature in Spiked oatgrass
Symptoms
Spiked oatgrass does not withstand elevated temperatures well. When temperatures surpass 68℉, its development ceases, and its vulnerability to decay increases.
Solutions
Remove any sun-scorched and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade cloth for cover. Hydrate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
