Signs of Cold Stress in Sugar-scoop
Symptoms
Sugar-scoop exhibits significant cold hardiness, but winter temperatures should remain above 40℉. Should temperatures fall below this point, while no immediate changes might be apparent in winter, a reduction or complete absence of sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
During spring, remove any sections that have not successfully sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Sugar-scoop
Symptoms
Sugar-scoop does not tolerate elevated temperatures well. When temperatures surpass 75℉, its development ceases, and its vulnerability to decay increases.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade cloth for cover. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
