Signs of Cold Stress in Quito orange
Symptoms
Quito orange exhibits moderate resilience to cool temperatures, flourishing optimally between 60℉ and 86℉. In colder months, maintain temperatures above 50℉. Should temperatures drop below 32℉, foliage may darken. Extreme cases can lead to water-soaked tissue death, wilting, drooping, and a gradual browning of leaves.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When indoors, position it near a south-facing window for ample light. If natural light is insufficient, provide additional illumination.
Signs of Heat Stress in Quito orange
Symptoms
In summer, Quito orange should be maintained below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, plant development slows, leaf coloration fades, and susceptibility to sun damage increases.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched or desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
