Signs of Cold Stress in Beefsteak plant
Symptoms
Beefsteak plant tolerates cool temperatures moderately well, flourishing optimally between 68℉ and 77℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 59℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, foliage may darken. Severe cases can lead to water-soaked decay, wilting, drooping, and a gradual browning of leaves.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant to a warm indoor setting or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When indoors, position it near a south-facing window for adequate light. If natural light is insufficient, provide supplementary illumination.
Signs of Heat Stress in Beefsteak plant
Symptoms
In summer, Beefsteak plant should be maintained below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, plant development slows, leaf coloration fades, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and dried out. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the afternoon sun. Water the plant during the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
