Signs of Cold Stress in Cineraria
Symptoms
Cineraria thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs above 60℉. In winter, temperatures should remain above 50℉. Below 40℉, leaves may lose color. Post-frost, they progressively turn brown or black, exhibiting wilting and drooping.
Solutions
Remove frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm area for protection. Position the plant near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Avoid proximity to heaters or AC vents to prevent air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Cineraria
Symptoms
In summer, Cineraria needs temperatures below 70℉. Above 80℉, leaves lighten and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off sun-scorched and desiccated areas. Move the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant during morning and evening hours to maintain soil moisture.
