Signs of Cold Stress in Water snowflake
Symptoms
Water snowflake tolerates cool temperatures moderately well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 70℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, foliage may begin to sag. Mild cases can recover, but severe cases lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before further cold exposure, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and build a windbreak to shield it from cold gusts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Water snowflake
Symptoms
In summer, Water snowflake should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures surpass 90℉, leaf coloration fades, leaf tips might dry and shrivel, leaves may curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Cut off any parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
