Egyptian doum palm favors warm conditions and cannot withstand low temperatures. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 70℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, its foliage might lose some color. Following frost damage, the leaves progressively become brown or black, and issues like wilting and drooping can appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light exposure. Furthermore, avoid placing it close to heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
