Signs of Cold Stress in Scorpion's-tail
Symptoms
Scorpion's-tail tolerates cool conditions moderately well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 55℉, foliage may begin to sag. Mild cases can recover, but severe instances lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent cold spells, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and build a windbreak to shield it from cold gusts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Scorpion's-tail
Symptoms
In summer, Scorpion's-tail should be maintained below 80℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaf coloration fades, leaf tips may dry and shrivel, leaves might curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to ensure soil moisture.
