Signs of Cold Exposure in Texas false agave
Symptoms
Texas false agave thrives in warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It grows optimally when temperatures are above 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, leaves initially show no clear signs. However, after 3-5 days, they begin to wilt and sag, and in severe cases, the plant may completely dry out.
Solutions
Cut off the frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm area for cold protection. Position plants near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Also, avoid placing them near heating units or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Texas false agave
Symptoms
In summer, Texas false agave should be kept below 85℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, leaf tips may become dry and shriveled, growth can halt, and root rot may occur. Furthermore, too much sun can lead to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune away the dried parts. Move the plant to a spot offering shade from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain moisture for both the plant and its surroundings.
