Signs of Cold Stress in Tropical ash
Symptoms
Tropical ash tolerates cool temperatures moderately well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In colder months, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, foliage may begin to sag. Minor cases can recover, but severe instances lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before further exposure to low temperatures, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and build a windbreak to shield it from cold drafts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Tropical ash
Symptoms
In summer, Tropical ash should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaves may lighten in color, tips might dry and shrivel, foliage could curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant during morning and evening hours to ensure soil moisture.
