Signs of Cold Stress in Candelilla
Symptoms
Candelilla tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, while winter changes might be unapparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, eliminate any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in Candelilla
Symptoms
In summer, Candelilla should be maintained below 80℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the plant's foliage may lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the entire plant might wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and dried-out portions. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to ensure soil moisture.
