Signs of Cold Stress in Forest red gum
Symptoms
Forest red gum favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, foliage might lose some color. Post-frost damage, leaves progressively turn brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping may appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm setting for protection from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Forest red gum
Symptoms
In summer, Forest red gum should be maintained below 80℉. When temperatures surpass 90℉, leaf coloration fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
