Signs of Cold Stress in Calamansi
Symptoms
Calamansi tolerates cool conditions moderately well, flourishing optimally between 70℉ and 86℉. In colder months, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, foliage may darken. Severe cases can lead to water-soaked tissue death, wilting, drooping, and a gradual browning of leaves.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm spot or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When indoors, position it near a south-facing window for adequate sunlight. If natural light is insufficient, provide supplementary illumination.
Signs of Heat Stress in Calamansi
Symptoms
In summer, Calamansi should be kept below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, plant development slows, leaf color fades, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Move the plant to an area offering protection from the afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
