Signs of Cold Stress in Betony
Symptoms
Betony tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 55℉, while winter changes might be unapparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Betony
Symptoms
In summer, Betony should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 80℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade net. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
