Signs of Cold Stress in Rush milkweed
Symptoms
Rush milkweed thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 70℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. Below 40℉, leaves may lose color. Post-frost, they brown or blacken, showing wilting and drooping.
Solutions
Remove frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm area for protection. Position the plant near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Avoid placing near heaters or AC vents to prevent air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Rush milkweed
Symptoms
In summer, Rush milkweed needs temperatures below 85℉. Above 95℉, leaves lighten and are more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Remove sun-scorched and desiccated parts. Move the plant to a spot offering shade from intense midday and afternoon sun. Water in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
