Signs of Cold Stress in Silverleaf nightshade
Symptoms
Silverleaf nightshade tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, reduced or absent sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in Silverleaf nightshade
Symptoms
In summer, Silverleaf nightshade should be maintained below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in hue, curl, become prone to sun damage, and in severe instances, the entire plant could wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-damaged and dried-out portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
