Signs of Cold Temperatures in Chinese sour cherry
Symptoms
Chinese sour cherry tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures are above 59℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while no immediate winter changes may be apparent, branches can become brittle and dry in spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.
Signs of High Temperatures in Chinese sour cherry
Symptoms
In summer, Chinese sour cherry should be kept below 68℉. When temperatures exceed 77℉, the plant's leaves may lighten in hue, their tips may dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
