Signs of Cold Stress in Wild pennyroyal
Symptoms
Wild pennyroyal tolerates cool conditions moderately well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, foliage may begin to sag. Minor cases can recover, but severe instances lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before further cold exposure, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or burlap, and build a windbreak to shield it from cold gusts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Wild pennyroyal
Symptoms
In summer, Wild pennyroyal should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures rise above 85℉, leaves lighten in color, tips may dry and shrivel, foliage can curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Cut off any parts that are sunburned and desiccated. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth to provide cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
