Signs of Cold Stress in Desert Mistletoe
Symptoms
Desert Mistletoe tolerates cool temperatures moderately well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 50℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 40℉. If temperatures drop below 30℉, foliage may begin to sag. Minor cases can recover, but severe instances lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent cold spells, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and erect a windbreak to shield it from chilling winds.
Signs of Heat Stress in Desert Mistletoe
Symptoms
In summer, Desert Mistletoe should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, leaves lighten in color, tips may dry and shrivel, foliage might curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant during morning and evening hours to maintain soil moisture.
