Signs of Cold Stress in Alpine rush
Symptoms
Alpine rush tolerates cold moderately and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, foliage may begin to sag. Mild cases can recover, but severe cases lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before further cold exposure, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and erect a windbreak to shield it from harsh winds.
Signs of Heat Stress in Alpine rush
Symptoms
In summer, Alpine rush should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 80℉, leaves lighten in color, tips may dry and shrivel, leaves might curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade net for cover. Water the plant during morning and evening hours to maintain soil moisture.
