Signs of Cold Stress in Jesuit's bark
Symptoms
Jesuit's bark tolerates cool conditions moderately well, flourishing optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In colder months, maintain temperatures above 55℉. If the temperature drops below 45℉, foliage may begin to sag. Minor cases allow recovery, but severe instances lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent cold exposure, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and erect a windbreak to shield it from chilly gusts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Jesuit's bark
Symptoms
In summer, Jesuit's bark should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaf coloration fades, leaf tips might dry and shrivel, leaves may curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to ensure soil moisture.
