Signs of Cold Stress in Greenfly orchid
Symptoms
Greenfly orchid flourishes in warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, leaves will show widespread water-soaked damage, wilting, and drooping.
Solutions
Remove any frost-damaged sections. Promptly move the plant indoors to a warm spot to shield it from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Greenfly orchid
Symptoms
In summer, Greenfly orchid should be kept below 80℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant stops growing, and its leaves progressively wilt. It becomes more prone to root rot and can easily get sunburned if exposed to direct sun.
Solutions
Cut off any sunburned and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain moisture for both the plant and its surroundings.
