Signs of Cold Stress in Mexican snow ball
Symptoms
Mexican snow ball cannot withstand extremely low temperatures. It flourishes optimally when temperatures range from 65℉ to 75℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, its leaves will show water-soaked decay and drooping. For minor frost damage, initial signs might be absent, but within a week, leaves will noticeably droop and eventually detach.
Solutions
Cut away the frost-damaged sections. Immediately relocate it indoors to a warm spot or construct a temporary greenhouse for cold defense. When bringing the plant inside, select a spot near a south-facing window for sufficient light. If using a temporary greenhouse, ensure good air circulation to prevent rot from inadequate ventilation.
Signs of Heat Stress in Mexican snow ball
Symptoms
In summer, Mexican snow ball should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 80℉, the plant will enter dormancy, becoming more susceptible to rot in humid conditions.
Solutions
Prune off any dry and decayed portions. Transfer the plant to a semi-shaded location, shielding it from direct sun during midday and afternoon. Cease watering the plant until temperatures decrease.
