Signs of Cold Stress in Scarlet larkspur
Symptoms
Scarlet larkspur tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while no immediate winter damage may be apparent, spring sprouting could be reduced or absent.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Scarlet larkspur
Symptoms
In summer, Scarlet larkspur should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant's leaves may lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe cases, the entire plant might wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
