Indications of Cold Temperatures in Maltese Star-Thistle
Symptoms
Maltese Star-Thistle tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 50℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, a reduction in sprouting or even a complete lack of sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
In springtime, remove any sections that have not germinated.
Indications of High Temperatures in Maltese Star-Thistle
Symptoms
Throughout summer, Maltese Star-Thistle should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, tend to curl, become prone to sun damage, and in extreme instances, the entire plant could wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade cloth for cover. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
