Signs of Cold Stress in Bottlebrush sedge
Symptoms
Bottlebrush sedge tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while no immediate changes might be seen in winter, spring may bring reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in Bottlebrush sedge
Symptoms
In summer, Bottlebrush sedge should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures exceed 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe cases, the entire plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
