Signs of Cold Stress in Broadwing sedge
Symptoms
Broadwing sedge tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while no immediate winter changes might be seen, spring sprouting could be reduced or absent.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in Broadwing sedge
Symptoms
In summer, Broadwing sedge should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, its leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe cases, the whole plant may wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering midday and afternoon shade, or use a shade net. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
