Signs of Cold Stress in Common bamboo
Symptoms
Common bamboo thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs above 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 55℉. Below 45℉, leaves may lose color. Post-frost, they progressively turn brown or black, exhibiting wilting and drooping.
Solutions
Remove frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm area for protection. Position the plant near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Avoid proximity to heaters or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Common bamboo
Symptoms
In summer, Common bamboo should remain below 85℉. Exceeding 95℉ causes leaves to lighten and increases susceptibility to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off sun-scorched and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering shade from intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
