Signs of Cold Stress in Round-headed leek
Symptoms
Round-headed leek tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while no immediate winter damage may be apparent, spring sprouting could be reduced or absent.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Round-headed leek
Symptoms
During summer, Round-headed leek should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant's foliage may lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in extreme cases, the entire plant might wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area protected from intense midday and afternoon sun, or provide shade with a cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to ensure soil moisture.
