Signs of Cold Stress in Italian maple
Symptoms
Italian maple tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while no immediate winter damage may be apparent, branches can become brittle and dry by spring, preventing new growth.

In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new foliage.

Symptoms
During summer, Italian maple should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures exceed 85℉, the plant's leaves may lighten in color, their tips might dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and dried sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering shade from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for protection. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
