Signs of Cold Stress in Koa
Symptoms
Koa thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. It grows optimally when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, leaves may lose their vibrant color. Following frost exposure, foliage progressively browns or blackens, accompanied by wilting and drooping.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm area for protection from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating or air conditioning vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Koa
Symptoms
In summer, Koa should be maintained below 82℉. When temperatures surpass 90℉, leaf coloration fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
